Shukokai is a traditional Japanese Martial Art meaning "The Way for All" with roots in Shito-ryu. Shukokai was founded in 1948 by Soke Tani (10th Dan) who resided in Japan. Soke Tani sought to perfect his style by studying the mechanics of the human body and developed techniques which can be delivered with maximum efficiency.

Tri City Shukokai is a member of the American Shukokai Karate Union. The ASKU is a member of Kimura Shukokai International formed in 1996 upon the untimely passing of Sensei Kimura.
